CLIENT: WILLIAM PENN FOUNDATION
The William Penn Foundation is among the 40 largest place-based philanthropic foundations in the country. Its three primary grantmaking areas support hundreds of initiatives that help Greater Philadelphia live up to its civic potential. In 2015, faced with an outdated web presence, an inefficient online grant application resource, the Foundation asked for my help, along with my talented friends at I-SITE, to overhaul their website.
Three main themes divide the site into sections with distinct intentions, while relevant content from different areas of the site appear on each page, providing a connected experience. Rich photography illustrates their work and their reach, and a responsive design ensures that the site works seamlessly across devices. A distinctive and vibrant color "tags" content for each of the three grantmaking areas, creating a consistent site-wide experience. Elements from the website design process later informed print design, such as these 2017 brochures.
"What We Fund" is devoted to sharing the work of each of the three primary grant making focus areas.
"How We Fund" details the grantmaking application process for applicants.
